Ratibida pinnata - GREY HEADED CONEFLOWER DIVISIONS
DIVISIONS - I am scaling down how much of this plant I have. This is a division of a plant directly from my gardens to yours.
Tanya’s Take I have a big old soft spot for this plant. It loves a dry spot. It loves full sun. It's tall. Needs to be planted with other tall stuff because it needs support. Great with Joe Pye's and asters. Sways and dances in the breeze, it's a lovely plant and tough as nails. Also a surprisingly good cut flower for a bit of airy sparkle at the tops of bouquets and arrangements.
Pollinators served Small bees and insects.
Color and texture Upright narrow stemmed plant.
Flowers Yellow downward facing like a shuttlecock flowers.
Height 4-6' in flower. The base of the plant is 1-2'.

Soil moisture Average to dry.
Preferred soils Very adaptable.
Is it a bully? No. Expanding dense clumps. Can spread seed sometimes when happy, but they are easy to pull.
Drought tolerance High once established.
Should you give this plant a try If you have full sun, yes.
Is this native Yes to DC, MD and VA
What is a native plant plug?
A small plant about 1.5" x 1.5" x 5". Yep, it’s pretty small. But they are incredibly well rooted and ready to grow.
With a season of growth, they'll be roughly the size of a gallon plant and fully acclimated to your conditions.
Why does Bipartisan Gardens focus on selling native plant plugs?
For DC residents it's a 45 min drive to the nearest sizeable nursery with an extensive selection of native plants. That is a barrier for many.
Another barrier is price. One gallon perennials are $12-$20+ per plants. That adds up quick!
We have these sales to make it easy and cheap for you to have native plants so you can have birds and bees in your yard.
Buy small, healthy native plants online and pick them up close to your home!

3 – We provide a variety of natives that you won’t see in many nurseris. From sun to shade, native specites to tried and true native cultivars we strive to bring a variety to you.
4 - Did I mention they are cheap?? At $4-5 per plant they are a cost effective investment this year for next year's garden.
