Antennaria plantaginifolia - PLANTAIN LEAVED PUSSYTOES

Sale price$3.75

Tanya’s Take I have not grown this plant but I know people who rave about it. It is a plant that must have poor soils and full sun to thrive.

Pollinators served Many.  Larval host to American Painted Lady

Color and texture Mat forming broad velvety leaves

Flowers White

Height Low foliage is ground hugging, 6-12" when in bloom

Sun, part shade or shade? Full sun

Soil moisture  Dry

Preferred soils Sand to clay and rocks. Bad soils are A-OK with this plant.

Is it a bully? Maybe. Will expand to form a weedless mat.

Drought tolerance High

Toughness rating Super tough in the right spot.

Should you give this plant a try Yes, if you've got a really in hospitable dry spot, this is the plant to try. I would hesitate to plant this in good garden soil, it may not like it.
