Heuchera americana - HEUCHERA 'DALE'S STRAIN'

Sale price$3.75

Tanya’s Take:  I have this native cultivar in some really tough locations in my yard. I've found it to be unfussy about sun or soil and looking handsome even in the worst drought. It's a winner. I use it as a cheery, handsome ground cover.

Pollinators served: I've not seen that many, but the flowers are very small. I'll have to take a closer look next year.

Color and texture: Like most heucheras a 1' tall clump of foliage. Good for ground cover.

Flowers:  2-3' wands of green blooms in spring

Height:  1' for foliage, 2-3' for flowers

Sun, part shade or shade?:  Full sun to full shade

Is it a bully?  Nope. A very polite plant, expanding to dense clumps with time.

Drought tolerance: Very dry to average/moist. Takes full sun and dry soil like a champ.

Toughness rating: Super tough

Should you give this plant a try: Yes. Ground cover, pretty edging plant or to brighten a corner. Lots of uses for this one!

Is this native:  Yup. Entire east coast including DC, MD and VA
