Tanya’s Take I am trialing this dry soil native as many taller natives prefer wet soil.  Maybe you can join me and give some feedback on how it works for you. 

Pollinators served Host plant for the American Painted Lady, Painted Lady and Spring Azure butterflies. Attracts bees, butterflies and birds. This is also a larval host plant that supports Silvery Checkerspot. 

Color and texture  Lance shaped leaves on tall stems. 

Flowers Small yellow sunflower like flowers

Height 4-6'

Sun, part shade or shade  Sun

Soil moisture Dry to average

Preferred soils Sandy to loam

Is it a bully? No.

Drought tolerance Yes, once established

Toughness rating Unknown, but probably pretty good. 

Should you give this plant a try? Yes, you should because I am!
