Tanya’s Take This will be my first trial with this plant.  It blooms early when few plants are available for pollinators. Good for mass plantings.

Color and texture It's  called lance leafed for a reason!

Soil moisture Average to dry.  Must be well drained.

Preferred soils Sandy, loamy or clay sites as long as soil is fairly well drained

Is it a bully? Well, if it is happy where it is at can reseed liberally.

Drought tolerance Yes, when established

Toughness rating We shall see, but my guess is that it is average

Should you give this plant a try
