Sale price$3.00

Tanya’s Take: I have not grown this plant and have no experience with it. However, it is a highly recommended pollinator plant.

Pollinators served: Special value to native bees, bumble bees and honey bees.  Attracts butterflies and more.

Color and texture:  Medium texture with silvery leaves

Flowers:  Whitish-pinkish-purplish in summer-fall

Height:  1-3’

Sun, part shade or shade?:  Full sun to part shade

Is it a bully?  This plant, Appalachian Mountain Mint is Pycnanthemum flexuosum. This Pycnanthemum variety is a slow clump forming grower.

PLEASE NOTE: most people are more familiar with the most common Mountain mint, Pycnanthemum incanum, which is known to be an aggressive grower.  That is NOT this plant.

Drought tolerance: This variety of Mountain Mint is the most tolerant of dry soils.

Toughness rating:  We shall see.

Should you give this plant a try: Yes. Seems like a very amenable plant with sterling pollinator characteristics.
